Fashion Valet Mid Year Sale Haul

Who else stocked up on their dUCk scarves during the FV Mid Year Sale?

On the morning of the sale, the website had crazy traffic and I couldn't seem to open it! I guess all the dUCkies were flocking to the site after knowing that the scarves were on sale! With the discount code (and if you buy 4 items) one scarf was ONLY RM51!!

That night I bought 3 items and I was kicking myself afterwards coz if I added another item, I could have gotton 40% off instead of 20%. In the first round I got myself an inner and 2 scarves.

Then I kept browsing for more scarves since they were at such a bargain! But I kept adding things that were actually out of stock so in the end the only colours available were colours that I wouldn't have bought at full price. But I really wanted a twilly because the leather on one of my bag's handle were coming off and a friend suggested that I put a twilly on it! So in order to get the 40% off, I just added random things into the cart like stickers and paper clips (!). I also got a top/sweater from Schmiley Mo which was at a great bargain.

Here's a flatlay of my haul :)

November Haul from Cultbeauty

I have finally made my first purchase on Cultbeauty! It was free shipping on any Hudabeauty items (no min spend) that pushed it for me. So then my Pixi toner ran out so I stocked up on that.

I was super upset with deciem (the main seller of The Ordinary) when they changed the free shipping rule from USD35 to USD250 worldwide. So I was happy when I saw that Cultbeauty also sell The Ordinary and they also had the foundation in my colour in stock!

Cultbeauty Haul

The online transaction was easy and fast! Additionally, they also deduct the VAT if you're purchasing from overseas!

Here is the Hudabeauty Mauve Obsession Pallette. That middle most left shadow in rose gold is so pretty! In all honestly, I am unsure on how to use and put these colours together. But after trying, it wasn't soo bad. I can still do pretty neutral looks without looking like I've got red eyeshadows on!

Here is my first attempt!

October Haul from Japan

You want to see what I bought??? Wheeee...

1. Stationaries

I am a sucker for stationaries! Stationaries can get me excited! So I wanted to get Frixion pens (erasable pens) and a stapleless stapler (!).

Most of the stationaries were bought at Family Mart except for some Muji stuff which I bought at the airport!

I tell you this picture below...makes me smile! hehe

2. Food

Japan's idea of souvenirs were mostly food. They are famous for their banana cakes beautifully individually packaged in wrapped boxes.

Tokyo Banana is famous and yummy. This I bought at the airport on the way back.

The Osaka Banana Cake is the Osaka version and is no where as nice.

You gotta buy some mochi too! These were soft and yummy! I liked the pink one best.

3. Beauty

I had 2 things in mind which were Haku Hodo brushes and LUSH (coz we can't get this in Malaysia).
I googled these two and were happy to see they have branches in Osaka. After walking around Osaka (Day 3) I went to search for my brush. Luckily it was easy to find and I had to choose quickly as I left the boys and Appa outside the department store.

I picked up a retractable blush brush which was JPY3456 (around RM127). The bristles were made of goat hair and it is so soft! I see what the hype is all about!

After seeing the Glico man, I looked over the bridge and I saw LUSH. So I quickly went in to grab a shower gel.

My last beauty haul is this flower foam facial cleanser! This is such a social-media-made-me-buy-this item! Actually all the stuff I bought were influences from social media!

In all honesty, I don't use this much but seeing the rose shaped foam is SO COOL! LOL
Actually the streets of Japan were full of Drugstores selling so many beauty items like sheet masks and all sorts. I don't even know where to start that I even googled "Beauty items must buy in Japan" but I stopped myself (phew!) coz I really didn't want to add any more to my piles of beauty and make up! Was there anything else that you think I should have gotten though?

Make up haul Aug 2017

I have been wanting to use up my Sephora points and last time, I had my eye on the Too Faced kit but I took too long to grab it and it was fully redeemed. When I saw the Tarte Clay kit, I wanted it especially when my friends raved about the 12 hour blusher. So I dropped that in my cart but obviously I had to make a purchase and of course it had to be more than RM80 to enjoy the free shipping! But then again, when you were late night shopping, I just started adding more stuff :p

Only wanted this

Ended up spending RM250
So here is my haul! Bought another blending brush, coz my eyeshadow always stop short of the eyelid. Need to go further up! Also wanted to try the tattoo liner by Kat Von D and loving it so far. One can never have too many travel sized mascaras! (I've got about 3 at the moment). Lastly, I wanted to try the veil primer from Hourglass as supposedly it's great for oily skin!

Here is the full Tarte Clay Kit.

Have you bought anything lately??

Genting Premium Outlet Haul

After our lunch at Burger & Lobster at Sky Avenue, we went down Genting and headed to the newly opened Genting Premium Outlet (GPO). It was as if, we had lunch in London and then went to Bicester for shopping!

Getting there:

The place was a mere half an hour away from KL and it's midway between the bottom of Genting and Sky Avenue (ie the top). So it's a great alternative to going to JPO, tauted as the best Factory Outlet in Malaysia.

The shops:

There are Kate Spade, Micheal Kors and Coach to satisfy your handbag needs. Kate Spade and Micheal Kors had additional discount offers which were awesome. I ended up buying from both of these stores. However I noted that there are still a few stores which are not yet opened. There was no GAP or Ralph Lauren kids. In terms of clothes for kids they had Cotton On kids and Poney. You can check out the full list of stores here.

The Haul:

So what did I get? First I got these sunnies from Micheal Kors and I bought them for RM173.50 which was a STEAL. This had an additional 15% on top of the discount off the retail price! MK's offer was great has you didn't have to buy more than one items to get the additional discount.

I bought new slippers (ala Fit Flops) from Clarks. Hopefully these will last longer than my Fit Flops!

Lastly we went back to Kate Spade for the birthday to get her birthday bag. There was an offer of additional 15% off for items on 30% off retail price (effectively 40% off). I almost got myself another handbag but thankfully I didn't. I actually really needed a new phone casing but they mostly had iPhone 7 ones. However after trying it, it fits my current phone so I got it! Love my new casing as it matches the rose gold hue perfectly!

So overall we had a wonderful time shopping at GPO! Would definitely go again when all the shops are open. I saw that Hamleys, Ted Baker and TODs are due to open soon! I think I'll go again and bring Mummy next time. She merajuk a bit when she saw that I went without her :p

December Hauls

Year end sales mean a HAUL post!

1. New work heels.
The heel to my current work shoes came off and my cobbler has been MIA.
A day after I bought new heels, he came back! So I have 2 pairs of work shoes now.

2. A new slip on casing for my laptop.

3. Books and Serums
Bought 2 sets of Bob Books for Nazrin. Still struggling to get him to sit down and read! Grrrr
A novel for myself.

The white boxes are serums from The Ordinary (separate post on this later!)

4. Zara Tops
Bought 4 new tops from Zara during the sale!

5. Lastly my Alphabet Duck arrived as well.

Haul - new skincare

Since before Hari Raya, I was feeling like my current skincare is not improving my skin. I guess it is keeping it fairly clear but I was desperate to get rid of my bumps and I just want to make my scars dissappear. So I bought the SK II trial set which consists of the toner, essence and moisturiser.

The trail set

I have bought the set twice so far and have also started using the cleanser. However as I still had my old toner and moisturiser, I kept using those on top of the SK II.

Today I took Natte to the SK II counter as she needed new skincare as well. Lucky for us, they have their promotion where you get RM50 rebate for every RM350 spent. As I recommended her, I got a small deluxe size cleanser and moisturiser.

I also did my skin analysis and compared it to the last analysis. Unfortunately on most of the aspect of the graph it actually declined. One factor could be because I did not use the facial cotton. Apparently the absorption is better when you use a cotton pad rather than using your hands.

So after seeing that my skin didn't have much improvement, I bought another trial set (RM219) and I also bought the big jar of moisturiser. I do love the moisturiser so I thought it was a good investment.

Haul
Bottom right is the trial set.

Overall, I do feel that there is some improvement to the skin. The break outs a definitely less and if I put the essence on top of the pimple, it does dry faster. I just hope that over time the scars will fade and my face will me smoother.

To be honest, I was contemplating of going to an aesthetic clinic for some treatment. I even made the appointment but I think I might pass. It is pretty expensive! Even with the promotion, it'll cost me thousands. So SK II, do your magic please!!!

Oh do catch the following SK II promos at Isetan (until 12th September)
  • RM50 rebate when you spend RM350
  • Free gifts if you recommend a friend
  • A USB flashdrive if you spend RM450 and above

Make up lately

Just a flatlay of empty boxed
I realised that I haven't been posting my make up looks lately so I thought I'd share.
I have to say that I've been in a bit of a rut. So most days at work, it's super simple make up.

Usual daily make up

I have been wearing a new foundation which is the Nars Sheer Glow but I think I prefer my Laura Mercier better. As you can see above, it was barely 10am but my face was slick and oily.

These days I usually wear foundation, blush, eyeliner and mascara.

And here are a few looks to a wedding and an outing where I put a little bit more of an effort. Heheh

To a wedding
#alwayswithfilter
Still haven't found a solution to get rid of those pesky bumps! Grrrr

Out to lunch
I finally wore my dUCk too :p

What make up have you been using? I keep wanting to buy more but I know I have so much already and I have been good and NOT buying!

the KL dUCk

I am not a "duCKie", who would try and berebut each and every limited edition shawl that comes about but I have been wanting the KL dUCk. I even got my sister to drop by the Petronas souvenir shop as she said they were sold there but when she went, it was long sold out.

So when they announced that they were releasing the KL dUCk again and this time with more colours I was stoked. I REALLY want one! Or TWO so it seems!!

My dUCk battle story this time had a happy ending. On the morning (and when I saw morning it was at 1.40am) that it was released, I dozed off the previous night while nursing Aaman so I woke up at 1am. I was mustering the energy to wake up and pray Isyak, wash bottles etc and remembered that they were releasing the scarves today. So I kept checking back from 1am and lo and behold at 1.40am they were released! SUPER DUPER lucky! I had access to all colours and I almost wanted to put them all in the cart and sell them off later but then again I refuse to be one of those resellers. So I just bought what I wanted which was the black and grey one!

I have to say that I do spend time reading the comments on IG of disgruntled customers who didn't get their hands on one. I think that it is unfair for resellers or personal shoppers to put such a huge mark up at resale. However I don't think it's Vivy nor theduckgroup's fault. They have tried their hardest to make it easy and better for everyone. It's just that the demand is just TOO huge! I think everyone needs to chill and not get too obsessed with the scarves. Just think if as rezeki, if you get it GREAT but if not just let it go. No need to queue up from the wee early hours, no need to spend the extra RM100 but I guess when the brand has gotten so STRONG that it's becoming a collector's item, I can't blame them for wanting to complete their collection. And I got my scarf this time...boleh la cakap kan? heheh

Ok enough with the dUCk, bought a few now but have YET to wear them!

S. Baharim Vivy Kurung - baju raya drama

Loved this baju kurung when Vivy herself wore it (but then again she makes everything look good!). So I managed to pre-order it (even before Ramadhan started).

A week before raya, I still haven't heard anything about it (ie it hasn't been shipped out yet!).
After emailing them, they wrote back to tell me that it will arrive at their warehouse on the 1st of July and I was already planning to go back to kampung the following day! Gaaahhhh!!
Luckily I managed to arrange to pick up my kurung from their store on Friday so I did. Phewww!

However it was a tad too big, but I couldn't change it straight away so I just accepted it.
I wore it on the second day, sans the kain as we were visiting a few houses in the hot hot weather.

Love the kurung, wish I had gotten it in one size smaller but okla. It's a bit itchy due to the organza material around the neck. Can't wait to wear the full outfit again!

Got my songket dUCk!

Teeeheeeeeeeeeee...

Ok the day after I wrote that last post, I got an email from Molpay indicating that I have placed an order but yet to make payment. So without knowing which colour this payment was for (green or turqoise) I paid!

Once the payment was made, I checked the notification email and it stated that I got the Green one.
Woot woot!!!

So on the last day of work, my songket dUCk arrived just in time for Raya!
