Daiso Washing Drum Cleaner and TIPS

Have you notice black flakes stuck to your laundry after washing them? That's what I have been having and I suspect that it's from my washing drum. I saw a few posts on how to clean your washing machine such us using bicarb + vinegar and also cleaner for Cosway but I saw that Daiso also has something similar. So after searching a few Daiso, I managed to find it!

Instructions in Japanese
Here is a very helpful forum with the translations. Link

The product
So basically you put this in your washing machine with the max water setting. Ideally you let it soak for hours but I didn't wait and just let the machine run. Check out all the gunk and dirt coming out from the washing drum!

When you see the dirt floating, you should get a strainer and scoop it out. I didn't have any so I just let the washing machine do its full cycle. At the end of the cycle I had to wipe out the dirty stuff that came out and it was A LOT! Then I ran the cleaning cycle and had to wipe again at the end. There were still stuff coming out, so I ran the wash and rinse cycle twice before I dared using the washing machine again!

So warning! You have to run a few cycles before you can use your machine again!

But after that, the satisfaction of knowing that you got all that dirty disgusting gunk out was awesome! No more black flakes in your clothes!! YEAY!!

DIY Ghostbusters Proton Pack

Ever since we took Nazrin to see Ghostbusters, he has been quite obsessed with it. He even made his own proton pack using his current school bag and putting all sorts to it including pool cues (4 of them!), a drill, a weed pump and a nerf gun. With everything that's attached to that bag it is pretty heavy.

Old proton pack

So over the weekend, the husband wanted to make him a new proton pack using empty boxes and stuff he bought from the hardware store.

The materials
Kimi always loved making things. When he was small, he even made an electric toothbrush which he actually used and caused his gums to get infected.

I was actually expecting a proton pack using some tubes attached to a box using tapes but boy was I WRONG! Even the ghost vacuum had many parts to it! It also have lights with complete on and off switches!

Work in progress

Here is the completed Proton Pack. Super cool!

A happy Ghostbuster

What a lucky boy he is to have a dad to make him the Proton Pack! Thank you Appa!

Nazrin's 4th Fireman Themed Birthday Party

It was gonna be his last birthday party as the only child so we wanted to throw him a very special one. We asked Nazrin what cake he wanted for his birthday and he insisted on another Excavator cake. But then Kimi had this idea of calling the Fire Department to ask whether we could have the party either at the Fire Station or get them to come to the house. Apparently you can ask the Fire Department as they try to encourage fire education to children but you need to check with your local fire station. So anyways, from there we decided to have the Fireman theme.

So first thing to do was to google FREE PRINTABLE!
I managed to get a whole set from HERE

The dessert table was DIY-ed. I was super happy with the outcome and you gotta love Daiso for having those cones and firetrucks at RM5 a pop!

I ordered the cake from Natte @nhomebakes (instagram) and she did an awesome job with the decorations! Nazrin and I were wowed from the pictures she sent us and he was so happy to see the real cake! And the cake was so delicious too (of course!)

We hired a bouncy castle from @ohbouncycastle and it was such a hit with the kids. We prayed so hard (MIL even sembahyang hajat) that it wouldn't rain that day. We only had some rain during the party and near 7pm it started chucking it down with rain! Alhamdulillah...phew. I wanted to get my money's worth for hiring it! hehe

Kimi managed to pull off the BIG surprise. When I asked him whether he managed to get the Fire Department to come to the party, he didn't and couldn't confirm so you can imagine how excited I was when the fire truck came by! Nazrin was more awed than excited actually. They even brought a mini fireman suit for him to put on. As the party was held at home there were limited activities that could be done. No fire demonstration so Nazrin had a turn to hold the water hose and the kids went inside the fire truck.

The fire truck is HERE!

Thank you Appa!

I think everyone got pretty excited with the Fire Truck!

With most of the guests that day

I know you loved your birthday party. Now you're insisting that almost every week is your birthday!
Happy birthday Nazrin! Mummy prays that you become a good boy and a good brother to your adik later. I hope that you become anak yang solehah and you achieve what you want in life. We love you so much and we hope that you never forget that!

Adam and Zac'ss Birthday Party - free 3D cube minecraft invite!

Over the Deepavali holiday, my SIL wanted to throw her boys their birthday party and she had asked for my help to do the Candy Buffet.

Firstly she wanted a 3D cube invitation to be given to Adam's classmates. I browsed on the net and found templates on Etsy for about RM25 - RM30. So I felt really ambitious and started designing one!! I loved how it turned out. But I have to admit, I did not do the assemblying. Konti (Adam's daddy) pulled an all nighter making those cubes!

(SEE END OF ENTRY FOR LINKS TO THE THE INVITES!)

Here is Adam with his invites.

Nazrin with his invitation

Next up were the candy buffet.
As usual, I found a free printable from here.  Then I went to the Cocoa Tree at Pavillion to get the matching candies to fit the theme.

I also created some TNT's out of red twizzlers and some strings.

Candies according to their themes!

The cakes were made by Kakak's neighbour in matching Minecraft theme.

Here is the full dessert table. It looked brilliant with the banner that Konti printed off. This  was printed at Purple Print Bangi at RM1 per square foot!! The total price was around RM35 only!! So CHEAP!! Konti was super excited I guess for the party as he made so many extra props. Like those boxes and foam sticks and picks on the wall. He even made a treasure chest!!

Happy birthday Adam and Zac!

So as promised here is the link to the invite that I made. You will have to download the font first from here.

Do let me know if you have any problems and I will try to help as best as I can!

Ann's Parisian themed baby shower

A few week's back, it was Ann's birthday shower.
Like Nadia said, "Her bridal shower was in Bali, this time her baby shower is in "Paris"!

The party was held at her own home.
She was upstairs the whole time we were setting up downstairs.

It was a potluck party so everyone brought some food.
As I was in charge of games, I didn't have time to prepare or buy anything.

Some of the food!

The deco was masterminded by Diana, Ikmal and Cuna

The dessert table

Qilah and Paris (our friend!) were in charge of the photobooth!
I love the drawing of the photobooth made by Cuna!

The photobooth

The cake, oh my the cake!!
This was ordered by Diana from none other than Gateauxlicous!

It was a two tier, Parisian themed cake.
The top dier had 3 sides of shop windows; Baby Dior, Laduree and a Cafe.
It was so stunning that we didn't have the heart to cut it!

We played the usual games;
Guess the Poop
Bingo
Measure the belly
Baby themed charade

Games card

Here are some pictures of the day!

Bimbotches with the mummy and daddy to be!
