Fashion Valet Mid Year Sale Haul

Who else stocked up on their dUCk scarves during the FV Mid Year Sale?

On the morning of the sale, the website had crazy traffic and I couldn't seem to open it! I guess all the dUCkies were flocking to the site after knowing that the scarves were on sale! With the discount code (and if you buy 4 items) one scarf was ONLY RM51!!

That night I bought 3 items and I was kicking myself afterwards coz if I added another item, I could have gotton 40% off instead of 20%. In the first round I got myself an inner and 2 scarves.

Then I kept browsing for more scarves since they were at such a bargain! But I kept adding things that were actually out of stock so in the end the only colours available were colours that I wouldn't have bought at full price. But I really wanted a twilly because the leather on one of my bag's handle were coming off and a friend suggested that I put a twilly on it! So in order to get the 40% off, I just added random things into the cart like stickers and paper clips (!). I also got a top/sweater from Schmiley Mo which was at a great bargain.

Here's a flatlay of my haul :)

September Haul including dUCk cosmetics review

Time for this month's haul!

I am getting quite broke by this unhealthy habit! Anyways, this month's haul includes;

  1. 2 tops from poplook
  2. dUCk cosmetics - Snazzy Stella and the Nude Pallete
  3. dUCk scarves - scarves bag
  4. plates from Tupperware
  5. Random stuff from Mr. DIY
  6. dUCk scarves - kuih koci

So let's check out the Nude Palette by dUCk Cosmetics.

When I swatched it at the counter, it was dry and patchy! I was quite disappointed and unimpressed. Then the Sales Girl asked whether she would like me to try it. So I thought, yeah sure let's give it a go. So she selected a few colours and put it on my eyelids (one side). Then after she was done she asked me to do it myself on the other side. When I put it on, it was smooth, easy to blend and soft. Totally different to the one I swatched! The Sales Girl also gave great tips on how to apply and create a look. She even did my brows using the eyeshadow. After that I was SOLD! So I was super impressed by the quality of the eyeshadows! Great job dUCk!

Swatches
I also just HAD to buy the liquid matte. I chose Snazzy Stella which is a pinkish/coralish colour. I have to admit, this is a bit drying (when compared to Huda of course!) but if I put on some lip oil before that, then it great and last long too. I preferred the formula for the lipstick but didn't like the choice of colours available. Although they release new colours today which sold out and have been restocked again! I would recommend that instead of the liquid mattes. But they eyeshadows are a definite WIN!

So did you get any new make up? Fenty and new Peach line from Too Faced looked good! MUST STAY AWAY!

the KL dUCk

I am not a "duCKie", who would try and berebut each and every limited edition shawl that comes about but I have been wanting the KL dUCk. I even got my sister to drop by the Petronas souvenir shop as she said they were sold there but when she went, it was long sold out.

So when they announced that they were releasing the KL dUCk again and this time with more colours I was stoked. I REALLY want one! Or TWO so it seems!!

My dUCk battle story this time had a happy ending. On the morning (and when I saw morning it was at 1.40am) that it was released, I dozed off the previous night while nursing Aaman so I woke up at 1am. I was mustering the energy to wake up and pray Isyak, wash bottles etc and remembered that they were releasing the scarves today. So I kept checking back from 1am and lo and behold at 1.40am they were released! SUPER DUPER lucky! I had access to all colours and I almost wanted to put them all in the cart and sell them off later but then again I refuse to be one of those resellers. So I just bought what I wanted which was the black and grey one!

I have to say that I do spend time reading the comments on IG of disgruntled customers who didn't get their hands on one. I think that it is unfair for resellers or personal shoppers to put such a huge mark up at resale. However I don't think it's Vivy nor theduckgroup's fault. They have tried their hardest to make it easy and better for everyone. It's just that the demand is just TOO huge! I think everyone needs to chill and not get too obsessed with the scarves. Just think if as rezeki, if you get it GREAT but if not just let it go. No need to queue up from the wee early hours, no need to spend the extra RM100 but I guess when the brand has gotten so STRONG that it's becoming a collector's item, I can't blame them for wanting to complete their collection. And I got my scarf this time...boleh la cakap kan? heheh

Ok enough with the dUCk, bought a few now but have YET to wear them!

Got my songket dUCk!

Teeeheeeeeeeeeee...

Ok the day after I wrote that last post, I got an email from Molpay indicating that I have placed an order but yet to make payment. So without knowing which colour this payment was for (green or turqoise) I paid!

Once the payment was made, I checked the notification email and it stated that I got the Green one.
Woot woot!!!

So on the last day of work, my songket dUCk arrived just in time for Raya!

dUCk drama - a piece of Vivy Yusof!

I have always been curious as to why people are going crazy over dUCk scarves. At RM130 for a plain scarf, it's so overpriced! So I have never bought one. Then one day I borrowed a friend's dUCk and kept telling myself to be careful when ironing! And true enough I ruined the scarf while ironing it! Gahhh...so now I own a dUCk hehe

When they released the #bloomingduck Limited Editions, I loved the designs!

I really wanted the peony so I tried to purchase one online! And you know how that went. Time and time again, I would get the "Bad Gateway" error message. I couldn't even add the items to cart, more over to check out. Sigh....

Then I started hearing about Personal Shoppers who would "help" you to purchase these coveted scarves. I was truly shocked at how much of a mark up they put on these scarves!

Eid 2016 scarves were the songket collection. After the first release, which I failed again in getting I started asking around these personal shoppers. The price ranged from RM270 up to RM300!! I really didn't want to spend that much extra for a piece of scarf! I absolutely refuse to buy them at that price! I also got to find out that these dUCk scarves are trading items. People are swapping them and collectors are willing to pay high prices for them. I heard that one fan, who wanted to complete her Blurred Lines collection offered RM700! That's RM530 extra!! Crayzeeeeeeeeeeee!!! The highest that I heard so far was for a Peony that was sold for RM890. Who has that kind of money??!!

I guess I'll just have to forget about this green songket dUCk.

I almost bought this twilly though before I was called "STUPID" by my sister for spending that much for a piece of decorative cloth. I guess I can get a scarf (even more than one) for the same price!

I have got to hand it to this girl though. She knows she has a massive following from blogging heyday and Fashionvalet has catapulted it further. So she has taken this to create and build her strong brand. Her brand is so strong that each time a Limited Edition dUCk is released, FV's website would literally crash due to the traffic. I think a case study should be written about her and her brand! It is pretty amazing how she has a multimillion fashion empire before she is 30. She also had a reality tv show and it was interesting to get an insight of how she runs her company. I totally loved watching Love, Vivy. So yeah I know how people can idolise her so much and I think she is a good role model. Hat's off to her!
