Fashion Valet Mid Year Sale Haul

Who else stocked up on their dUCk scarves during the FV Mid Year Sale?

On the morning of the sale, the website had crazy traffic and I couldn't seem to open it! I guess all the dUCkies were flocking to the site after knowing that the scarves were on sale! With the discount code (and if you buy 4 items) one scarf was ONLY RM51!!

That night I bought 3 items and I was kicking myself afterwards coz if I added another item, I could have gotton 40% off instead of 20%. In the first round I got myself an inner and 2 scarves.

Then I kept browsing for more scarves since they were at such a bargain! But I kept adding things that were actually out of stock so in the end the only colours available were colours that I wouldn't have bought at full price. But I really wanted a twilly because the leather on one of my bag's handle were coming off and a friend suggested that I put a twilly on it! So in order to get the 40% off, I just added random things into the cart like stickers and paper clips (!). I also got a top/sweater from Schmiley Mo which was at a great bargain.

Here's a flatlay of my haul :)

Cheap baby shopping websites

You would think that not much shopping is required for the second baby? But when the mummy is a shopaholic, it's a different case altogether.

Apart from most of the clothes which would be a mixture of hand me downs from the elder brother or the nephew, the rest of the stuff I wanted to buy new. We have bought a new car seat and stroller (Nazrin warned that we had to buy a new car seat and stroller for baby brother), diaper bag (I didn't even have one last time!), cot and mattress (the old cot was stored in the store which was a bit moist so we didn't want to use a mouldy cot so bought new one at Ikea).

I thought I'd share a few websites that I have been buying from.

For my sister's baby shower a few months back, I bought her a Bebe au Lait Muslin Nursing Cover.

I wanted this specific one as the muslin material is supposed to be light and airy. After googling I purchased it from http://www.applecrumbyandfish.com (RM148.29) . However post purchase further research revealed that it was cheaper at http://www.babydash.com.my (can't remember the price and currently no stock) and now of course I wanted one too so I bought mine at http://www.jumpingbabyjacks.com/ (RM126).

So from the price comparison of the nursing cover, applycrumby is at the higher price point while jumpingbabyjack is lowest. Babydash pretty reasonably priced but no stock for this nursing cover.

Here are my list of baby shopping websites with mini short reviews:

http://www.applecrumbyandfish.com - more expensive than other website. Not recommended.
http://www.babydash.com.my - good price, lots of variety of baby products
http://www.jumpingbabyjacks.com - good price, lots of variety and also stock lots of imported brands
http://www.bebetotz.com/ - good price, lots of variety and also stock lots of imported brands, bought my diaper bag from here.
http://onebabyworld.com/ - my friend swears by this website. Great price!

Happy shopping!!!

Bros Bottle Haul

I read from the two Sabrina's blogs (Sabby Prue and Sabrina Tajudin) that Bros were having a 30% discount site wide. Plus with the code BFF30, you also get a free bottle brush.

I have been a Bros bottle user since Nazrin was born. Bought 3 straw bottles so far (the first two went MIA on me!) so I wanted get the strap so that it's easier to carry around. So off I went to the site to get the strap and put that in my basket. Then I thought, I should get a little bottle for myself so that I can carry it around in my handbag. So I got a small 300ml screw cap bottle. Then I threw in spare straws too coz I had old mouldy straws. YUCKS!

Yesterday my loot arrived!

Bros Bottle Loot

Loved my tiny bottle which I filled up prior to going home, just in case I have to break my fast in the car. When I got home, I was super excited to put on the strap for Nazrin's bottle but to my dismay, I GOT THE WRONG ONE! Grrrr!!!! It won't fit coz I got the narrow one when I should have gotten the WIDE one. So geram coz the main reason I went on the website was to get the STRAP! But I guess I can use it for my small bottle coz it's a waste to just get one strap and pay for the RM6 postage.

Anyways do check out their website as they carry loads of different type from straw bottles, aluminum, screw caps and even lunch boxes (ALL BPA FREE). Love their quirky and funky designs too! You can use the following code to get 30% off and a free bottle brush until 13th July. So GO NOW!

Discount code: BFF30

Heart & Shawl

My little sister debuted her modelling career recently (cewah career you!) and her daughter tagged along too!!

Actually she was helping her friends who are the co-owners of the company to model some of their products.

The prices are reasonable where their classique (read: plain chiffon) are for RM29.
During Ramadhan, they have an offer going - 2 for RM56 or 4 for RM110.

They have 4 types ;

H&S Basic

Classique (chiffon)
Elegente (satin)

H&S Premium

Jewel (with stones)
Doily (with lace)
I bought a few shawls too and especially loved the doily lace one. The beading work is neat and beautiful. I also love how the carry a RANGE of colours in stock.

Here's my loot;

So head on over to http://www.heartandshawl.com/ to get your shawls to match this year's baju raya colour!

apple accessories haul

Someone (*looks at Nazrin*) dropped my iPad recently so the cracked screen was annoying me. So i got a new iPad mini :p

So I had to go get a new casing for it pronto, in case it gets dropped again!

Loving the "Saffiano Leather" look of this casing.

Protection all around the edges!!

No one gets to use this iPad except me! Nazrin and Kimi has to share the cracked old one *bahahah*

Then I browsed the iPhone cover section and got a new cover. Loved the old one (just a simple transparent silicone cover) as it was reliable - dropped it so many times! But from clear it turned brown from the make up transfer! It was getting kinda gross so time for a change (plus it was pay day :P)

I ended up with this one!

Love the clear and transparent back!

Prices

iPad mini : Odoyo casing (RM119)
iPhone : spigen casing (RM69)

Hamleys - Opening at One Utama

Isn't this just dreamy??
I have only been to Hamleys once in London and I remembered that it was HUGE. So many floors and on each floor they had toy demonstrators everywhere!
So it is all very interactive and kids are encouraged to come and PLAY with their toys.

So I am excited to share that they will be opening a store in One Utama..
THIS WEEKEND!!!

And the best bit is Kimi's cousin and her husband are the owners of the franchise here in Malaysia so all the family members are now banned from shopping at ToysRus!!
Kak Lin has got us all to come on the first day so hopefully we'll see you there!!!

Pandora

Brand new bracelet! woot woott...I had my old one exchanged with a new one actually.
What happened was I have an airplane charm, so when I tried to rearrange my charms the other day it got stuck at the separator. I kept trying to get it out and move it but it ended up MOVING the separator.

Checked on the website and Pandora has a 12 months warranty but the bracelet was bought by my husband and I have no idea where my receipt was. I went to KLCC as they said they could check their system but unfortunately I forgot the phone number my husband registered (he recently changed numbers). The SA tried to look for it but there were loads of receipts that they had to go through. So I left her while I did my shopping so when I came back she apologized as she didn't have time to go through and find my receipt. I walked away disappointed with my wonky bracelet.

Over the weekend, I received a phone call and the SA has found my receipt!! I did give her a time frame of when Kimi would have bought it to narrow down the search. But I didn't expect that she would look for it in her own time, so thumbs up Pandora KLCC!

Went back yesterday to exchange the bracelet and got a brand spanking new one. I even managed to get a size down as the original size was a bit too big (once it loosened). Well, also grabbed myself two new charms (2 purple ones in the middle). Now I need to go back to Pavillion outlet to exchange the plane one coz that was the culprit that started it all!

Thanks again Jasmine from Pandora KLCC for your help. You have just become my favourite Pandora SA!

iHerb.com and Real Techniques brushes (and special coupon for readers!)

Yeay my brushes are finally here!!

If you have noticed on my sidebar, I have one entitled PARCELS TO COME and now I can cross off iHerb.com.

  1. Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman, Your Finish/Perfected, Stippling Brush x 2
  2. Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman, On Location, Travel Essentials, 3 Brushes + Case
  3. Giovanni, Frizz Be Gone, Super Smoothing, Anti-Frizz Hair Serum
  4. Organice Vanilla Tea (freebie)
  5. iHerb.com pen (freebie)

I saw these brushes on StyleSuzi.com (British Beauty Blogger) when she raved about them. So naturally I was sold! She mentioned that she got them from Boots so browsed on Boots.com and almost wanted to "kirim" from a friend. So I Googled it and looked at the options of where to purchase them and did a price comparison.

Buying through iHerb.com is obviously the cheapest. So click-click-checkout i went. iHerb is a US based internet shop selling all sort of beauty items and supplements. Whenever you are buying from the US you always want to check out their shipping charges coz sometimes your shipping ended up being about the same price as the items. But in this case they offer a FLAT RATE shipping and handling of ONLY USD4.00 !

They also offer extra discounts;

Extra Discounts:
  • May Special: Extra 5% off for orders below $60 and 10% off for orders over $60.00! Ends Friday, May 31st, 2013.
  • $10 off your first iHerb order of $40 or more! Offer available for first-time customers on their first order only.

So I ended up buying all those items above (note that I bought 2 stippling brush) at a total cost of USD35.36 (RM106)!!

What's the big deal about these brushes?

  1. Ultra-plush taklon bristles for high-definition results
  2. Extended aluminum ferrules for light, easy use

It does give an almost flawless complexion after applying your foundation using the stippling brush and because they were made of taklon it means that you can use them on both liquid or powder based make up! You can just buy the travel set coz everything you need is in there already but I really wanted to try the stippling brush so I use that instead and use the foundation brush for my concealer.

They are so cheap compared to MAC and other brushes! 4 brushes under RM100 and they are of good quality brushes!

Another great plus about these brushes are the video tutorials by Samantha Chapman (the woman who invented these brushes!) so those are really helpful. Do check them out at realtechniques.com

This little fella was thrown in for good measure hehe!

I have special coupon for you to use for an instant USD10 off your first iHerb purchase of $40 or USD5 for smaller orders (and I get to earn credit hehe). They do sell Burts Bees there too but unfortunately all the baby items are currently out of stock! Otherwise I would have definitely stocked up on the Baby Shower Gel and Shampoo for Nazrin!

So have a browse at iHerb.com and here is your Coupon Code

Ferragamo Sale

I received an email from Citibank yesterday informing me about Ferragamo's preview sale for Citibank credit card members. In addition there will be an extra 10 percent off for all sale items! My girl Adzy and I decided yesterday that we would check it out over lunch today and we did.

I had one thing in mind which was their hairclips. I am so bored of my hair and thought a new hairclip would be a nice accessory! This is what I came back with.

There were the iconic vara bow hairclips but only the black one was on sale which I thought was a bit boring and didn't really stand out. Then I fell in love with this one! Love the colour and the branding is not so huge which was a plus.

There a variety of shoes on sale too. Lots of vara and varina and i also bumped into these jelly flats. Tried it on and oh.my.gosh they were so comfy. At RM468 a pair after discount It was too good to pass up! So bought those too!

There you go, May pay purchases.
(No more spending this month!...but we are heading to JB tomorrow and unlikely that we wont be visiting JPO eekk)
