i wanted a small bag to hold my cards, cash and phone which can be worn short or as a cross body as whenever i go out i would have to carry another bag ie the unglamorous diaper bag. this Chanel Wallet on a Chain would be absolutely perfect! but of course this retails at RM5000+ so let's strike that off the list (for the moment at least! hehe)
so off i went to find an alternative and the Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC caught my eye. this was after trawling through net-a-porter.com and shopbop.com. it's a crossbody and a nice size that's not too small so click click click there it was in my shopping cart.
that was the first time for me to shop through
shopbop.com and it was easy enough. all credit cards accepted and orders above USD100 gets free shipping!! please note however that upon arrival, you still need to pay for customs and duty handling. in my case it was RM88 (RM68 for customs duty and RM20 for handling). the website provides tracking of my bag so everyday i would be obsessively tracking where it is! it only took around 2 weeks to arrive at the office. thumbs up for the services from shopbop!
this bag is one of the iconic recognizable in the US but not so much here in Malaysia as I have yet to see anyone else wear it so that's a plus. i have taken off the 2 dangling bits of leather as i like to wear it more elegantly rather than cool and chic. however i find the chain very heavy so that's the only downside of the bag. otherwise its beautiful in its full leather and the rose gold chain and i wore it first when i went out to vote last 5th of May!
upon writing this entry and looking for some celebrity images with their mini MACs i JUST found out that apart from wearing it long (crossbody) or as a clutch you could also double up the chains so that it's shorter!! this bag also had 4 studs down the bottom so that it doesn't get worn off. it comes in soooo many colours and in fact the day after i purchased mine there was one in mint green added to shopbop!

it serves its purpose as a small bag that i could wear crossbody (keeping my hands free when carrying my lil man) but i wished the chain wasn't as heavy but otherwise i love it. now that i know i could wear it shorter will definitely use it to the office tomorrow!
