Breakfast for MY love!! The Breakfast Love Campaign with F&N Seasons NutriSoy

After attending the cooking demo hosted by F&N Seasons NutriSoy (read all about it HERE), I was really excited to back into the kitchen again. After all, the session really made me realise that sometimes it doesn't necessarily take a long time to prepare a healthy nutritious breakfast. You just need to find the correct (ie: easiest) recipe. At the cooking demo, they shared with us 4 recipes. I have added the recipes here (shared on google drive) for you to download. My favourite dish that day was the Grilled Chicken wrap so that's what I have decided to prepare for my family.
 I went shopping at cold storage and somehow they didn't have any thyme! So I went to the herb section and found this Steak Spice instead.

The recipe for the grilled chicken was as follows;
  • Chicken breast strips
  • Lea & Perrins sauce
  • Steak spice
  • Lemon Zest
  • Oil
That’s it! Super duper easy right?

After adding the all the ingredients above, I mixed everything and to ensure that it is mixed thoroughly, it is best to use your hands!

I marinated this overnight and the next morning, I just took them out and grilled the chicken.

The best thing about this recipe is that you can make a whole batch and freeze them in ziplock bags. Then as and when you want to cook it, take it out of the freezer the night before to thaw and you can grill them the next morning!

Do make sure that you are using a medium to low fire. You don’t want to chicken to overcook as the flavours are enhanced when it is juicy and tender. Once cooked, you just cut them up into strips and the assembly begins.

I put some mayonaise first, then layer it with some lettuce and put the chicken on top. The wrapping does take some practice as my first attempt almost fell apart when picked up hehe.

I also made some Sauted Mushroom and Onion to go on the side of my wrap.
Another quick and easy recipe;
·         Mushrooms
·         Garlic
·         Onions
·         Lea & Perrins (I do love this sauce hehe)
·         Salt (to taste)

All you have to do is:
  1. Brown the garlic
  2. Add the mushrooms (cook until tender)
  3. Add the onions
  4. Add a splash of Lea & Perrins and salt to taste

All in all, this was such a quick breakfast to prepare! When you marinate the chicken the night before, the cooking time doesn’t take that long. I think I took around half an hour to cook the chicken and the mushroom and another 15 minutes to wrap them up.

Breakfast is SERVED! Bon apetit! 

I even prepared three versions of the breakfast. One for mummy, one for Appa to take to work and one in his special “Construction” plate for Nazrin.

As you can see, preparing a healthy and nutritious breakfast for your loved ones doesn’t necessarily take a long time. More importantly, when it is served together with a glass of F&N Seasons NutriSoy, you are providing for your family the daily required intake of proteins (from the chicken and F&N Seasons NutriSoy), wholegrains (from the wrap) and also vegetables (from the lettuce).
