P Ramlee the musical - quick review

I finally managed to coax the hubs to go out for a date with me!

I think it's been 2 years since we last went out just the TWO of us (we went to watch MIB3).

This time around, we went to see P. Ramlee the musical. Thought that he might enjoy it since he's a fan of P. Ramlee. We even went to his museum (his old house converted into a museum) earlier this year.

Review of the Musical

I was expecting more of his original songs to be sang but that was not the case. Mainly the songs were the theatrical bits (ie singing to tell the story).

As for the cast, Tony was good but that was expected.

Lisa as JunaiDah - at first I was pleasantly surprised that she could sing. But unfortunately for the last song (before she parted ways with Ramli) that was a bit of a fail. She didn't quite hit the notes.

Tiara as Norizan  - she was so-so only

Nadia Aqilah as Saloma - this girl BLEW ME AWAY! she impressed me the most that night! Loved all the scenes with her in it. When she sang, the hairs on my arms were upright!! She was brilliant and i think she STOLE the show.

Eidil as Sukardi - another small timer (maybe he's pretty famous now). He was funny and could carry a tune!

The props were pretty amazing too. Love the scene with the trains going to Singapore!

Overall I thought it was entertaining but not the best. Me and Liza kept commenting throughout the show :p

Can't wait for our next theater session with the hubs which is a surprise from me to him!

Initially I wanted to do bold red lippy but I actually forgot and went and did my eyes!!

This look was veto-ed by Adzy! Cos you can't go strong on eyes AND lips!

P Ramlee the musical - quick review

Happy Anniversary my love

It's our 4th year wedding anniversary today.

As time goes by, when everything becomes more "routine" and when there are often more downs than ups, I think it's good to sit down and remember all the good times.

Like the other day, it's been a while since we car pooled to the office so it was nice to be picked up and more importantly not having to drive. As usual we have our usual banter, but he said something in that manner that made me fall in love with him back then and we had a great great laugh. So it was nice to be reminded of why I love him so much. I love how that sometime when it's just the two of us, we would make our usual jokes and laugh our heads off. He has sacrificed so much and I hope that he is happy that he settled down with me. I know I am no where his ideal wife, but I hope I am enough.

I pray that our marriage gets stronger as time goes by.
And I am so thankful that we have Nazrin as he is our love personified.(can I have another one?? hehe)

Happy Anniversary my love

Special Day Out #SDO

At the end of every year, me and my girls from the office would take a day off and do something together. Last year we went to Khareyana Spa but this year we just wanted to go shopping.

First up - Breakfast at Chinoz!

Then we went to Pavillion and got our hair done. 

I had a scalp cleansing treatment, cut and blow dry! Loved my hair afterwards!!

Then lunch at The Loaf

To my girls, thanks being a part of my life! You are my heart and soul and I love you to bits!!

Special Day Out #SDO

Marriage is not easy

I try not to divulge much on the personal things in this blog but a few nights ago we had a projectile vomiting episode by N and a fight ensued. When I say fight, it's just me feeling upset and crying and him watching Bear Gryls (seriously why are men so clueless?!). So the next morning I texted (who texts these days?? I mean whatsapp) how I felt and that didn't make anything better. But a few hours later I messaged back with those kissing smileys. I dunno, I just didn't feel like fighting anymore and more smileys were sent. He was silent until i told him (paksa :p) to reciprocate the massive love i sent him which he obliged hehe.

Then I came across this article and it's a good reminder for us all to keep working on the marriage. A normal marriage has it's up and down and you just have to keep going at it and never give up.

Marriage is not easy

3rd Year Wedding Anniversary

On this day, 3 years ago we vowed that we would love each other until the end of time, InsyaAllah. My love for you grows each day and it is strengthened with our bundle of joy. I pray that our marriage is blessed and is forever until Jannah. Amin
