Raya 2018

It's the second last day of Syawal, so before it end I would like to wish everyone a Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir & Batin!

We spent our 1st day of Raya in Kuala Kangsar (my side woot woot!) this year. So it's always tradition to have the salam2 session and endless photo sessions! But before we could do all that, we had so many guests who came to visit my grandma. So I took my little family for a photo session at the most famous Masjid in Malaysia, Masjid Ubudiah.

It is also tradition for me and Kimi to do our raya cheesy pose ie pose tgn kat dada and angkat kaki! This year's photo was pretty awesome and it was shot by Nazrin!

After we got back, we finally had to chance to start our salam and photo session.

The Shamsudins
On the second day, we headed up North to Nibong Tebal to celebrate with Kimi's family.

The Razaks
This year's trend is the Drone Shot. My brother Icky had one and my BIL Konti also had one. So we had drone shots and videos from both Kampung this year.
The Osman Clan - drone shot
They also shot using the drone by the paddy fields and it was beautiful. We managed to get some great shots of the kids especially Aaman who loved playing by the field.

Another cheesy pic by us!

On the 3rd day of Raya we went to Kuala Kedah for Mama's little sister's house. Nazrin loves coming here as he gets to ride on the sampan.

Last year when we went, Aaman was very small and slept the whole time. This time around, we checked out all the animals there. There were rabbits, turkey, chicken, ducks and goats.

After playing around, Aaman feel asleep again for a good couple of hours. We had a good hearty lunch of rice and curry. We also had fried soft shell crabs afterwards too. This time around we didn't catch those crabs. We went home with full tummies.

So that's our first week of raya, the most hectic part. The rest of our raya wasn't as busy, thankfully! hehe

So before Syawal ends, hope everyone had a lovely raya with their loved ones!

S. Baharim Vivy Kurung - baju raya drama

Loved this baju kurung when Vivy herself wore it (but then again she makes everything look good!). So I managed to pre-order it (even before Ramadhan started).

A week before raya, I still haven't heard anything about it (ie it hasn't been shipped out yet!).
After emailing them, they wrote back to tell me that it will arrive at their warehouse on the 1st of July and I was already planning to go back to kampung the following day! Gaaahhhh!!
Luckily I managed to arrange to pick up my kurung from their store on Friday so I did. Phewww!

However it was a tad too big, but I couldn't change it straight away so I just accepted it.
I wore it on the second day, sans the kain as we were visiting a few houses in the hot hot weather.

Love the kurung, wish I had gotten it in one size smaller but okla. It's a bit itchy due to the organza material around the neck. Can't wait to wear the full outfit again!

Selamat Hari Raya and reason for hiatus

Hello hello peeps!!!

How is everybody doing?

Firstly I wanted to apologize for not updating lately. I just haven't been feeling up to it and I have a perfectly valid reason!

23 weeks babybump

Alhamdulillah we have been blessed with another child and I will be due in early November!
I can't believe how quickly time has passed and now I only have over 3 months left!! Please pray that everything goes well and the baby is well too.

Ok back to raya, I went back early to Kuala Kangsar to spend 2 days berbuka with my Pah. I haven't seen her for ages so it was nice to be able to spend a few days berbuka with her. On the last day of puasa, we headed to Nibong Tebal to break fast with Kimi's side of the family at his kampung.

The Eid morning was spent with Kimi's family. My family were all in Bangi as my dad took care of his mum (who is bedridden and blind) while the maid is off on her holiday in Indonesia. My younger sister also hasn't quite finished her confinement period so everyone else stayed back in Bangi for the first day. They only went back to KK on the second day where I joined them that night.

Here is our raya family portrait =)

Selamat Hari Raya from the Razaks and the Shamsudins
Well I really hope everyone had a lovely raya with their loved ones coz I sure did!!

Salam Aidilfitri 2014

Hello everyone!!! First of...

How was your Raya celebration?? For us, despite the 8 hour LONG journey back to Nibong Tebal, it was pretty awesome.

First day raya was spent at Kuala Kangsar (my side). I wanted to go pray at Masjid Ubudiah but I couldn't. Kimi went with Nazrin but they didn't stay to shake hands with the Sultan. If I were there, I would have waited and insisted a picture! hehe

After prayers, we had our salam and photo session. This year's theme for our family was Red and White. Merah mak ngah for the ladies and white for the men. Unfortunately, my brother Icky wasn't around this year so we were one short.

I just want to share my ootd. I actually really want to highlight my shoes . This was given to me as a birthday present and I LOVE it! Shoes were from Adila Long.

I was also happy with how my baju raya turned out in the end! after altering the bottom to make it smaller i love the final flow of it!

#ootd

After we had our photo sessions (yes they were many!) we headed up North to Penang.
This year, many of papa's (hub's dad) siblings came back so they house was very meriah.

We took pictures by the parit! haha

With Kimi's mama, siblings and cousins

Day 2 of raya was spent helping out the family as 2 of Kimi's cousin is holding their reception the following day.

Day 3 - wedding time!

Selfie with the family
I love that photo of smiling Papa

Day 4 - we went back to KL in the morning. NO TRAFFIC! yeay

Day 5 - Raya at Diana's house

Day 7 - CBA girls came to Raya at mine's

Natte wanted to come beraya at mine's so I invited the rest of the girls too. In the end, everyone could make it all the way to Bangi!! I cooked my rendang dendeng and everyone loved it! Glad that I managed to host the CBA raya this year. I told them, let's just pick one house a year and do our raya there! I may have just started a new tradition :p

Hope your Raya was an eventful one too.
I am back at the gym this week. Trying to work out 5 times a day for 25 mins at least!!
Let's do it!!

Baju Raya

So how's your preparation for Raya going?
How many outfits do you have??

This year I sent 2 sets of materials and border lace to the tailor and I got the back the other night.

Left is the sample and right is the outcome! So totally different kan?!

L: the inspiration R: the outcome

I specifically asked her to place the lace as per the picture but clearly she didn't follow. The bottom is too big too! So I have to take half a day off to go back to the tailor to get it altered.

Since I was frustrated, I bought another baju from Zalora yesterday. Luckily it was at 20% off and then I had a voucher code so I got it cheap!!

I love how there are so many choices of ready made baju raya online nowadays. I also bought Bibah from Rizalman. Love the cutting on this. I find that Rizalman's RTW has one of the best cuttings. JM is a bit out sometimes :p

So have you bought anything online? Share them with me!

Ramadhan, bringing my love ones closer to me

This Ramadhan, I have been given the opportunity to meet up with many old friends.

First my friend Alan from the UK, then my bimbotches. My bimbotches are my girl-friends from high school. #smkj2represent!

Last night we had dinner at Ben's (great service! as always). It was great to hang out JUST the four of us. Ann never fails to crack us up with her bimboness. Case in point: Nadia passed the fone to her and she was ready to take a pic, then paused and ask "kau nak aku amik gambar apa ni" when we didn't pose. We wanted her to take a pic of the food actually. Paris is always funny with his antics and Nadia as always full of stories pok pek pok pek! hehe love them!

Bimbotches

And today my Emellyne is back too! Emellyne has been and always will be my rock, my person.
I first met her back at College where we did our A-levels. Then we stayed in touch while I studied at Warwick and she was in Newcastle. Then after we finished our degrees, she and her family moved to Coventry! So we had our heart to heart sessions over Fillet o Fish and a sundae. She stocked up my fridge with comfort food when I was going through a bad patch. She never fails to make me feel good! Never stops giving me advice.

So I was super excited when she told me she was coming back this year (after 5 years of not seeing her!!). She came to the office as she had errands to do at the counter. So we just chatted here at the office, then at the bank and then at the lobby. Trust us to hang out at the most random-est place!

It was just so good to catch up with her!!

Me and my Ems

Now that I have all my loved ones near me, I also need to get closer to the Almighty too! Especially in these last 10 days. Mari beribadat!!

Baju raya shopping for Mils

Over the weekend, I made it a point to take mummy and lil sister out to buy her baju raya.
It's been a while since we took her out, so we went to Parkson Alamanda.

We managed to find 5 tops for Mils! Yeay us hehe. She is now set for raya!

Considering the fact that she usually doesn't like to go out she did pretty well. She only complained once about "Nak balikkk".

Bought Nazrin his baju melayu as well.

Shopping with Mils

So happy that I bought baju for her and she seemed happy too!
